With the mountain bike on the Steinplatte
Steep and sweaty climbs await us on the way to the summit of the Steinplatte. But the grandiose panorama makes the torture worthwhile!
difficult
Distance 32.5 km
Right from the start we have to pedal hard. The path climbs steadily and steeply. The ascent is interrupted by a beautiful but technically demanding trail section before the Eibenstock hut and a short rest at the rustic Stallenalm. The last, extremely steep climb to the summit demands all our strength once again. But then we enjoy a fantastic panoramic view. The panorama ranges from the Chiemgau Alps to the Berchtesgaden Alps to the Wilder Kaiser and the Hohe Tauern with Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner. At the end of the tour, a single trail from the famous Winklmoosalm down into the valley awaits, but requires a sophisticated riding technique.

Turn-by-turn directions
Start the tour at the Seegatterl car park. Always follow the wide forest path via the Nattersberg-Alm (refreshment stop) to the Eibenstockhütte. Continue to the Steinplatte car park. Turn left here to the Stallenalm (refreshments available). Take the branch path to Berghaus Kammerkör (refreshments available) and continue to Steinplatte (1869 m). Walk the last few metres to the summit. Return on the same path to the junction with the crossing path. Here do not turn left back to the Stallenalm, but right to the Möseralm (refreshments available). Take the forest road and finally the path to the Muckklause. Take the gravel path via the Möserer Stube to the Winklmoosalm. At Kohlstatt, immediately after crossing the stream, turn left onto the gravel path. Along the Dürrnbach stream back to the Seegatterl car park.
The trails run along popular hiking paths. Therefore, we should definitely show consideration for pedestrians!
