The waterfall path to the Hess hut leads along marked paths and climbs, the steep step west of the waterfall is overcome by means of iron ladders.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the parking lot we start on a comfortable path about 300 hm through the forest uphill to the waterfall, which we cross at its foot. Then the first safety measures follow and over further steep steps we finally reach at 1260 m above sea level the "Emes-Ruhe", a resting place with a memorial plaque. Over 2 further almost vertical iron ladders we reach the Ebnesanger, a former alpine pasture area, which we cross comfortably and soon see the Hesshütte in the Ennsecksattel on the horizon. Here we can stop for a bite to eat at the rustic Reini hut landlord and, if we wish, stay overnight.

Tips for further variations: Descent to Johnsbach via hiking trail, Zinödl panorama trail, Hochtor via Josefinensteig, Planspitze, Sulzkarhund-Sulzkaralm-Hartelsgraben
