Das größte Gipfelkreuz der Welt steht auf dem wunderbaren Aussichtsberg, der Buchensteinwand im Pillerseetal, von wo aus es bei entsprechenden Wetterbedingungen einen imposanten Blick in die sanfte, wie auch kalkig-schroffige Bergwelt des Tiroler Unterlandes inklusive Wilden Kaiser sowie in die "Loferer Stoaberge" des angrenzenden Pinzgaus gibt. Und sogar die Hohen Tauern mit dem höchsten Berg Österreichs, dem Großglockner, können von hier aus bestaunt werden. Das Jakobskreuz ist sowohl innen als auch außen begehbar. Im Inneren des Kreuzes befinden sich Ausstellungsräume, Aufenthaltsräume sowie eine Caféteria. Ein Besuch lohnt sich deshalb sogar bei Schlechtwetter! Außerdem befindet sich rund um die Buchensteinwand ein prächtiges Wandergebiet!
