Your adventure begins with a leisurely walk in the direction of Wolfgangsee, through the Ellmautal valley and onto the Mozartblick viewpoint (824m). Enjoy a break here and take in the outstanding views of Lake Wolfgang and the Schafberg; a towering peak at 1,783m. Descend to St Gilgen, a pretty town that embraces its connections to Mozart, being his mother's hometown. Choose from one of the local restaurants for a hearty evening meal of local specialities and refreshing Austrian beer.

Depending on availability in Fuschl, you may be accommodated in St. Gilgen. There is a bus that goes from St. Gilgen to Fuschl to start the first hike (approx. 10 minutes). This is especially true in July and August for all arrivals on a Friday or Saturday.

Equipment

We recommend that you wear well-worn hiking shoes with a good profile. In addition, a waterproof rain jacket and rain pants in bad weather and sunscreen and a sun hat in good weather.

Always take enough water with you (at least 1 litre). Hiking sticks can take the strain off your knees when climbing.

In your information package, you will find a detailed list of the hiking equipment you need, such as good hiking shoes, functional clothing, rain jackets and daypacks.
