The Waldgeistersteig was originally created by Nohen children, the "forest spirits", and could then be integrated into the "Nohener-Nahe-Schleife" dream loop.

You reach the Waldgeistersteig via a section of the Nohener-Nahe loop. You start the dream loop against the direction of travel in the village of Nohen, you reach the Waldgeistersteig after approx. 1100 metres. This 600-metre-long section of the trail offers various play opportunities as well as beautiful rest areas.

Then take the path back to Nohen.

Directly on the trail is the Nohen hiking station with daily connections on the Mainz - Saarbrücken route. (www.db.de)

Nohen can be reached by bus from the district town of Birkenfeld. (www.rnn.info)

The stop in Nohen is a so-called "hiking station", this distinction is only awarded to stations that, among other things, have good signposting to the hiking trails and are located very close to the routes.

Getting there

You can reach Nohen by leaving the A 62 at the Birkenfeld exit. From here, take the B 41 in the direction of Birkenfeld / Idar-Oberstein. Shortly after Birkenfeld, a road branches off to Rimsberg (Nohen is not signposted here), take this exit, drive through Rimsberg and Nohen is reached after 4 kilometres.

Parking

Hikers' car park: at the entrance to Nohen - coming from Rimsberg, then follow the Nohener-Nahe-Schleife access road and turn right to walk the Traumschleife in the opposite direction.
