This trail crosses the mountainous terrain of the Cerklje hills. The first part of the trail follows a road and runs across forest and grassy slopes. Finnish with the climb.
The route from Ermanovec to Porezen runs past the Škofje hill. Our route follows the former Italian military road which bypasses the peak and was built out of sight of the enemy's eyes. The road leads to Novaki, a small village tucked into a narrow valley below Porezen. Hidden deep inside a wild gorge is a monument to the Second World War (takes around 10min detour to reach)
The Franja Partisan Hospital is a marvellous monument to this war of resistance. Hidden from prying eyes, the Partisan hospital, a complex of hospital barracks, operating theatre and x-ray room, lies along a stretch of rapids deep inside the Pasica gorge. So calculate the time for visit in your scedule.
From the hospital the trail gradually ascents (on some parts not so gradually) up to Porezen, the 1.630m high mountain with grass covered slopes and beautifull views on all sides. The hut on Porezen lies a few 10m bellow the top.
