To the Ruderhofspitze in the Stubaital
This high altitude tour takes us from the Oberrissalm in the Oberberg valley over stony paths first to the Franz Senn hut. From there we walk through the Alpeiner Tal valley to the Alpeiner Gletscher glacier. Passing the bizarre ice formations of the glacier fractures, we first reach a shallow glacier basin. Via a long left-hand bend we finally reach below the Ruderhofspitze. At the southern edge of the glacier is the entrance to the block ridge, over which we reach the summit of the Ruderhofspitze by means of easy climbing. Imposing views over countless peaks of the Alpine region make you forget your efforts in no time. The way back is usually the same route. However, you can bypass the lower section of the glacier along the western side moraine. As this high altitude tour is very long, an overnight stay in the Franz Senn Hut is recommended.
