The Verdinser or Schenner Waalweg

In Schenna (640 m) first follow the signs "Zum Waal" between houses and through orchards up to the Moareben inn and on to the Pichler inn on the road of the same name (827 m; from Schenna just under 0:45 hrs.); here turn right and head south along the Waalweg (signposted), descending once over the aforementioned "Katzenleiter" (cat's ladder), a long flight of stone steps, and a little later passing the Brunjaunhof farm where you can stop for refreshments. Finally, the trail leads down to the hamlet of St. Georgen (inns, church worth seeing) and from there, following the signs to "Schenna", you go down partly on a pretty footpath and later on a narrow road to the starting point.
