This is a nice, not too long, snowshoe tour, which is also for those hikers with less experience. The efforts of the uphill climb are quickly forgotten as soon as you toboggan back downhill.

From the Olympia Skistadion (Olympic Skiing Stadium) take the summer hiking trail via the Schönau up to the Eckbauer, where you can enjoy a beautiful view. The track is not difficult to find – more often than not, you can see the summer signposts – so that even beginners can enjoy the tour to the fullest. For the way dowhill, take a toboggan or a snowbike. Just call the base terminal of the Eckbauerbahn cable car and your toboggan etc. will be taken up for you.

From the Olympia Skistadion go a few metres to the left up to the dry toboggan run. The start of the trail is here up to the Eckbauer via the Schönau. It is easy to follow, as the tour follows the summer hiking trail and you will see many of the signposts. At first, climb uphill next to the dry toboggan run, and then a more level section follows, until the way leads you steeper uphill in a few hairpin bends, passes under the Eckbauerbahn cable car and then rewards your efforts with a magnificent view up on the Eckbauer plateau. Not only can you see the town and Loisach River Valley, but also to the south with the Wetterstein Mountains and even King Ludwig II’s hunting lodge Schachenschloss. At the base terminal of the Eckbauerbahn cable car you can borrow a toboggan and have it sent up, so that you can slide down the easy run to the valley as well as the Olympia Skistation. The ruckXbob toboggan is so light that you can even carry it uphill on your back without any problems. For the way down, it offers enough space to pack your snowshoes inside. Once back down, turn left. Right next to the skiing stadium you will find the base terminal, where you can return your borrowed toboggan.
