Turn-by-turn directions
We recommend that you take the bus to the starting point Dachsteinruhe (bus direction Ramsau - Filzmoos). This wonderful ski tour starts directly at the county border to Salzburg. There, you will cross forests and meadows in the direction of Luxwiese and on to the pasture region. This ski tour starts just past Dachsteinruhe - the house before the Ascent: from Gasthof Dachsteinruhe on the right side along the brook. After approx. 300 m, take the summer trail towards Neustattalm. This trail turns into open terrain whilst continuing to lead towards Neustattalm and the Dachstein Gondola Bottom Station. Ascent via the Lehmerwald to the ridge (Schönbühel) and, from there, continue your ski tour to the Südwandhütte (closed in winter). In good snow conditions, you can go a little bit further. Descent: there are many varied descents on the ascent route. Back to the Glösalm or further on through the Stierwald- steep with narrow passages to Gasthof Dachsteinruhe in Ramsau Hierzegg.

Equipment
To go on a tour without proper preparation and equipment is reckless. Not only your own life is easily risked, but also that of your fellow mountaineers in the same region.
Must-haves: avalanche transceiver, mobile phone, shovel, avalanche probe, first aid kit, sufficient food and drinks, possibly additional clothing to change.
On the day of the tour: Read the avalanche situation report and weather forecast and check what effects it will have on your planned ski tour: possibly adjust or cancel the ski tour. Are all participants fit and healthy enough to go on the tour? If not, change or cancel the ski tour.
