The Tour

The ascent track for ski tourers on the Planai is new from this winter and leads from the Planai middle station / Lärchkogel valley station up to the Planai summit.

A fee has to be paid for the ascent and the use of the infrastructure such as the prepared ascent lane, slope for the descent, parking lot, guidance system, etc. Ski touring fee.

The fee is € 10.00 per person per day. You can get the ticket at the Lärchkogel valley station ticket office. A touring combination season ticket for Planai, Hochwurzen, Galsterberg, Rittisberg and Fageralm is also available. Holders of a valid ski pass do not need a separate ticket. The ticket machine only accepts debit and credit cards with NFC functionality and coins and does not give any return money! The ticket must be carried with you on the ascent, as controls are carried out on the slopes.

Safety information

Outside of the slope opening times (from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), the slope is generally closed, as there is a risk of serious accidents during the slope preparation (winch, etc.). Driving and entering the closed slopes is prohibited. The ascent along the ski slope outside of operating hours is not permitted. The preparation with the help of rope winches poses a mortal danger!

Mountain sports are subject - even more so in winter - to personal responsibility. Tourism associations, mountain railways or avalanche warning services assume no liability for the information provided. The Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen and the Schladming Tourist Office thank you for your understanding! Basically, the current weather and avalanche report should be checked before every ski tour or snowshoe hike - available at www.lawine-steiermark.at.

Tips and hints

Ski pass holders ask not to forget the ski pass - otherwise a ticket must be purchased from the ticket machine.

Since most of the ascent track leads through the forest, attention must be paid to the snow conditions away from the slopes.
