As early as 4500 to 2200 BC, Frauenberg in the present-day municipality of Seggauberg above Leibnitz was inhabited. From 450 to around the birth of Christ, a town-like central place with the name Solva developed there, which was moved to the plain in what is now Wagna around 15 BC. In the 7th and 8th centuries, immigrating Slavs settled on Frauenberg, gave the place the name Lipnizza (lipanizza = linden place) and made it a court or meeting place.

Turn-by-turn directions

This short route is not only popular with locals - it also serves as the ideal short trip to rest and relaxation for guests in the region due to the shady forest, its variety of native animals, and the ever-present enthusiasm for our rivers. Located five minutes walk from the vibrant city centre in the middle of the incredible Südsteiermark Nature Park. Can all the birdhouses along the way be discovered? Who is better at "flipping" stones? Who is a duck and who is a drake? Can you find a fish that lives in the Sulm? Display boards provide knowledge and stimulation.
