Der Einstieg in die Rodelbahn liegt idyllisch auf 1620 Metern Höhe im Oberbergtal und ist in ungefähr einer Stunde zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die familienfreundliche Abfahrt beginnt bei der Auffangalm, die im Winter allerdings nicht bewirtschaftet ist.

Der Aufstieg beginnt am Parkplatz direkt am Rodelweg,  der Beschilderung „Auffangalm” folgend. Oben an der Alm angekommen kann der Rodelspaß zurück zum Ausgangspunkt beginnen. Alternativ geht es an der letzen Abzweigung nach rechts gemütlich in Richtung Bichlhof.

 

Geöffnet ist die Rodelbahn täglich ab 10 Uhr. Durch die schattseitige Lage ist die Bahn meist in sehr gutem Zustand.

Basic Equipment for Sledding

  • Sturdy, comfortable and waterproof hiking boots appropriate for winter use (B1+ recommended)
  • Layered, moisture wicking clothing
  • Long, warm technical socks plus liners and spares
  • Rucksack (with rain cover)
  • Water- and windproof mountaineering jacket and trousers with ankle adjustment or separate gaiters
  • Lip protection (SPF 30+)
  • Water- and windproof gloves plus thin fleece inner gloves
  • Neckwear
  • moisture wicking skull / knit cap
  • Sunglasses

Technical Equipment for Sledding

  • Sled with tow strap
  • Trail ‘spike’ crampons are useful on ascent
  • Ski Helmet recommended when sledding through heavily wooded areas
  • Ski goggles if required
