From the starting point of the famous Streif race course we hike past the various key points of the downhill run and down into the valley, climbing over 900 metres of altitude.

The „Streif“ is considered the classic and most difficult downhill race course in the world and attracts thousands of spectators every year. The alpine ski disciplines „Super-G“ and „Downhill“ are held, with the Super-G being shortened. Two particularly successful racers are Franz Klammer, who won the downhill four times (1975, 1976, 1977, 1984), and Hermann Meier, who won the super-G five times (2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006). Women's downhill races are not held here. We take the Hahnenkamm lift up to the starting point of the Streif – and at the same time of our hike – and on the way down into the valley we pass not only the various gated turnstiles of the famous race course, but also the Seidlalmsee lake and cosy places to stop for refreshments. The views of the Kitzbüheler Alps, the Kaiser Mountains and Kitzbühel in the valley are always a delight. The mountain railway museum at the top station of the Hahnekammbahn also invites you to visit.
