Rewarding snowshoe hike in the Hefferthorn landscape conservation area. Fellhorn-Sonnenberg with a fantastic view of the Kaiser
Route: From the Altmühl inn, head north-west to the last building (stable), through the gate and along the wide forest path (5) into the forest. At 860 m, a barrier blocks the way. Go past it and simply continue on the forest path. Be careful, in the bend with a large space at approx. 920 m there is a feeding station with an observation post! Now walk to the junction at 980 m (signpost) and along a narrow path into the landscape conservation area. Later you cross a fence (fence stile). At about 1040 m you reach the open meadow area, cross the wide area with a moderate incline until you reach the narrow fence at 1100 m and walk mostly along the fence to the alpine meadows of the Sprissleralm (1226 m, signpost). The terrain is now flat and you walk gently up and down on the forest path east-west (5) to the fork (1226 m, signpost), to the Marcheralm (1180 m) and to the Prostalm (also 1180 m according to the compass map).
