Nature tour
Culture and culinary delights go hand in hand on the approximately 65-kilometre circular route and offer us various insights into the diversity of the region.
The garden tour takes us through the hilly landscape that characterises Eastern Styria, past many cultural and culinary places. We cycle past numerous historical buildings such as the pilgrimage churches of Maria Lebing and Maria Fieberbründl as well as the magnificent castles in Schielleiten and Herberstein and we always have the opportunity to take a culinary break. Let's spoil ourselves with local delicacies and good wines in the various wine taverns or taste our way through the beer assortment in a regional microbrewery. On hot days we can take a dip in Lake Stubenberg and refresh ourselves at the numerous beach bars. For those who appreciate flora and fauna, the Herberstein Animal World with its castle and museum is just right, or we can stretch our feet at the Harter natural pond with its adjacent pond tavern.

Turn-by-turn directions
We have chosen Hartberg as the starting point. The town is well connected via the R12 Thermenradweg coming from Rohrbach a.d. Lafnitz, Grafendorf, Greinbach. Coming from the direction of Kaindorf, the R57 is a good choice.
From the garden castle to the vineyards of the RomansCastle Herberstein is one of the most impressive artistic monuments in Styria, as the development from the original fortified building to the magnificent Renaissance castle is still visible today in all construction phases. Many secrets entwine around the Herberstein dynasty, great names have made the castle a venerable witness to history.
In the historic garden, which has been reawakened, you can stroll through the Green Garden of Harmony, the White Garden of Perfection, the Blue Garden of Consistency and the Yellow Garden of Hope. The cultural country tour continues to St. Johann bei Herberstein. The vineyards on the south side of the Hoferberg have been cultivated since Caesar's time. Artful Roman stones on the wall of the church and the vicarage can be read as an ancient picture book. The Centaur relief is particularly worth seeing.
