Head up through amazing central alpine landscapes to one of the most scenic mountain lakes. Return via an epic ski field and a well run mountain hut - think lunch spot.

The ascent via the Wilde Grube is steep but scenic and away from the busy ski fields. Once the track levels out, it continues mid level past peat bogs to scenic Mutterberger See an awesomely nestled mountain lake.

You go down a bit and up the other side towards the ski fields. Where you get phantastic views.

Once you descent, you'll reach Dresdner Hütte, the perfect lunch stop. From there it's less than an hour to the starting point.

Turn-by-turn directions

The track is easy to find and follow, lots of markers are helping too. One point that is not signed is quite early, you climb the Wilde Grube alongside the river knowing that you need to cross to the right. There is only one bridge (no signing but), cross here and find the next signpost at the bushlands.
