Lippenkopf

We start the tour to the Lippenkopf at the parking place above Thaur/Kapons. On the right hand side there is a track up into the forest. Our destination the Lippenkopf (Goaßersteig) is signposted.

We cross two mountain pasture roads and follow the path further up. At Garzoantrögl we turn right.

The path winds along the slope and leads us between rock faces and ditches without much height gain further and further east. After a last rock step we climb up in the light forest in serpentines. At the end, very steeply, these lead us up a ditch until we reach a fork in the path.

Here we follow the path to the right and after a few minutes we reach the ridge and after a last bend the Lippenkopf.

The view opens up into the Garschaffl valley and the steep rocky outcrops of the Zunterköpfe.

After a short rest we hike back to the fork and now follow the signpost to the west further on the Goaßersteig. After a short ascent, the terrain becomes flatter and we continue in the light forest to the Nisselboden.

From here we follow the easy path down to the starting point.
