Start
Turn-by-turn directions
We will start in Bozen/Bolzano (260m) and take the bus to the Gherdëina valley and to the village of Santa Cristina (1430m). There we take the bus, Gardena Ronda Express, or walk (tbc) to the valley station of the cable car Col Raiser (1550m), which brings us up to the Col Raiser hut (2106m).
From here we start the hike towards the Cuca anticline, and where the ascent towards the Sëceda peak (2519m) starts which offers us an astonishing view to the Geisler/Odles pinnacles and large parts of South Tyrol.
After reaching the peak, we descent towards the Pieralionga alp (2297m), an insider tip as it is small, traditional and cosy hut apart from the modern tourist huts. Here we can buy or have lunch (n.b. they can not serve warm meals!).
After lunch, we hike back to the Col Raiser hut and take the cable car down to Santa Cristina where the bus wil ltake us back to Bozen/Bolzano.
OPTIONAL: Before returning back, we can explore the village of Santa Cristina with its Ladin culture and language (ancient Rhaeto-Romance).
