Turn-by-turn directions
We start in Bozen/Bolzano (260m) and use the Ritten cable car to reach the plateau of Ritten/Renon and the village of Oberbozen/Soprabolzano (1220m), where the easy panorama hike begins.
Here we hike along the Freud promenade on good forest roads through forests and we will have spectacular vews on the astonishing Dolomites at the other side of the valley.
After about 3 hours we will reach Klobenstein/Colablo (1160m), the main village of the plateau. But before going to the centre for lunch, we will visit the Earth Pyramids of Ritten, a natural moument and phenomena which we can find on several sites in South Tyrol.
In the centre of Klobenstein/Colalbo we can have lunch in a restaurant or buy something on-the-go.
We return to Oberbozen/Soprabolzano via the Ritten light railway. Alternatively we can go back the same way by foot. From there we take the calbe car back down to Bozen/Bolzano.
OPTIONAL: The railway passes the lake of Wolfsgruben, a natural bathing lake where we can cool down from the summer heat.
