A round away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Lonely bays paired with a boat trip.
There are many beautiful bays on Hvar, filled with crystal clear water which invite you to take a bath. However, most of them are only accessible from the sea and few can be explored by land. In addition, the access roads are rarely suitable for a motorized vehicle, so these small jewels, lonely beaches, crystal-clear water, wonderful places - and a boat trip - are only open to the biker. One possibility to visit such bays is presented here. Those who are not afraid of the ups and downs will be amply rewarded. Lonely beaches and bays in which one can bathe wonderfully away from any tourist hustle and bustle are waiting for the visitor. The route also leads through a very secluded and lonely natural landscape which is so characteristic of the island. As a highlight even a boat trip waits which will make the round unforgettable.
A cooling bath in one of the lonely bays is a must. Take some swimwear with you.
During the whole lap I only found one place to stop for refreshments. Therefore take sufficient food and water with you.
Tips, hints and links
In the small village of Rubin near the bay of Pokrivenik, you can ask for a boat trip to the opposite village of Pokrivenik.
Camping Grabisce - otherwise take off from any point on the main road D116 (17 m)

Most of the route follows the little frequented island road D116. 15 km after Jelsa, at the village Poljica, a narrow asphalt road turns left which leads down to the north coast. Once at the coast, the road branches to the east and west. A few hundred meters after the turnoff, there is a bay which can be reached by foot.
Return to the main road and continue for about 5 km in the direction of Sucurja. Just behind Zastražišće a gravel road turns left, which leads through bush and forest down to the north coast. After about 5 km you reach the group of houses Robin at the bay Pokrivenik. Here crossing by boat (ask in Appartmani Robin, they organize the boat, which for a small fee takes you to the opposite side of the bay, to the village Pokrivenik. There is also a refreshment point here). From Pokrivenik it first goes on the asphalted access road further 5 km up to the main road. Here we have already reached the highest point (290m) of our round. On the road back to the chosen starting point.
all notes on protected areas
There are buses to all island towns several times a day. But the very few of you will be on their way with the bus.
As this is a round trip, the tour can be started from any point along the main road D116.
Parking depends on the starting point. In my case, I left the car at Camping Grebisce near Jelsa.
Arrival by train, car, foot or bike
