Vom Rohrauergut in St. Pankraz dem Weg 461 folgend bis zur Wegtafel auf Höhe 1120m auf einem Forstweg oberhalb der Saubachalm. Ca. 10m links der Wegtafel geht der nur mittels Steinmanderl markierte Steig über die aufgelassene Kogleralm (nur noch ebene Lichtung mit kleinem Sendemast) kommt man, bei Abzweigungen sich immer links haltend kurz vor der Biwakschachtel auf den Höhenweg Sengsengebirge Nr. 469. Diesem folgend führt der Weg an der Biwakschachtel vorbei direkt auf den Hochsengs. Abstieg wie Aufstieg.
