Die Strecke gilt als anspruchsvoll, da es beim ersten Streckenteil bergauf geht und die Gesamtlänge der Strecke ca. 12 km beträgt.

Als Ausrüstung empfehlen sich Wanderschuhe und Rucksack. Stärken für die Wanderung kann man sich noch am Hauptplatz in Lockenhaus, wo es ein Gasthaus und eine Café - Konditorei gibt. Auch Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es am Hauptplatz in Lockenhaus und man kann hier die Pfarrkirche Lockenhaus und die Krypta besichtigen. Die Kirche ist tagsüber frei zugänglich. Da es entlang der Strecke keine Einkehrmöglichkeiten gibt, empfiehlt es sich, eine Jause und Getränke mitzunehmen.
