Vom Gehöft in Neuhaus folgt man der Forststraße durch das Toferntal bis zur Oberharbachalm und weiter zu den beiden Tofernalmen. Hinter der oberen Tofernalm folgt man weiter dem Weg Richtung Tofernscharte, biegt jedoch nach einigen Minuten hinter einem markanten Graben nach rechts ab. Jetzt steigt man über die immer steiler werdenden frei liegenden Osthänge zum Gipfel auf. Am Gipfel befindet sich die Badgasteiner Hütte, die aber während des Winters geschlossen ist.
