A picturesque mountain hike that leads from the turquoise waters of the most beautiful mountain lake in Tirol up to the rustic Alpine village.

Begin at the Seestüberl restaurant, which offers pay & display parking, and follow the forest trail (no. 45a). Head up to the Walleralm (1.199 m). This will take you past the Stöfflhütte and Kafma Alm mountain hut, which also provide the opportunity for a refreshment stop. Walk down along trail no. 45 until you reach the Pension Maier. Head back along the southern bank of Hintersteiner See lake (no. 822), where the beautifully clear water offers a view of the fish, until you reach the Seestüberl restaurant once again.

Alternatively, you can start the route from the Gasthof Maier. There is also parking or you can use the Seebus.

What’s special:
The crystal clear Hintersteiner See provides a wonderful reflection of the summits in the Wilder Kaiser region.
On the eastern bank of the lake is a small lido that offers a range of experiences based around its natural approach.
