From Hintersteiner See to the Walleralm
A picturesque mountain hike that leads from the turquoise waters of the most beautiful mountain lake in Tirol up to the rustic Alpine village.

Distance 9.3 km
Begin at the Seestüberl restaurant, which offers pay & display parking, and follow the forest trail (no. 45a). Head up to the Walleralm (1.199 m). This will take you past the Stöfflhütte and Kafma Alm mountain hut, which also provide the opportunity for a refreshment stop. Walk down along trail no. 45 until you reach the Pension Maier. Head back along the southern bank of Hintersteiner See lake (no. 822), where the beautifully clear water offers a view of the fish, until you reach the Seestüberl restaurant once again.
Alternatively, you can start the route from the Gasthof Maier. There is also parking or you can use the Seebus.

The crystal clear Hintersteiner See provides a wonderful reflection of the summits in the Wilder Kaiser region.
On the eastern bank of the lake is a small lido that offers a range of experiences based around its natural approach.
Alternatively, you can start the route from the Gasthof Maier. There is also parking or you can use the Seebus.

Go to KaiserJet/Postbus stop “Scheffau Dorf”, then ride the Hintersteiner See lake bus to “Seestüberl Strandbad”.More information at: www.wilderkaiser.info/mobil
Getting there
Heading from Wörgl, Kufstein or St. Johann on the B178 road, take the exit to Scheffau and drive through the village as you continue in the direction of the Hintersteiner See. The hiking starting point and the pay & display car park are located next to the Seestüberl restaurant on the eastern bank of the lake.Parking
