The E5 takes hikers from the Ötztal Valley through Timmelsjoch mountain pass in the Val Passiria, across the Sarentine Alps to the regional capital of Bolzano
From the village of Zwieselstein in the Ötztal Valley through Timmelsjoch to Alto Adige. E5 runs through Moso along the Val Passiria to the Pfandler alpine hut on Mount Hirzer to Merano 2000, along the ridge and through the Salto plateau to the village of San Genesio. The San Genesio cable car takes hikers down to the valley of Bolzano.
