Am Anfang der Hohenaustraße ist ein Parkplatz. Von da aus die Schotterstraße aufwärts. In der Hohenau gehts nach rechts richtung Hohe Schrott. Nach einer Weile geht Links ein Waldweg weg. Den folgt man bis zur Halbweghütte. Von da aus gehts rechts den Waltweg in die Mitteralm. An den Hütten vorbei geht es links hoch auf die Hohe Schrott. Wieder zurückgeht es zum Hochgleckt. Von da aus zur Kotalm und zurück nach Bad Ischl.
