Route abweichend von alpinwelt-Tour NICHT über Gaißau, sondern über Wimberg und Halleiner Hütte nach Formau. Von St. Koloman weiter über Wegscheid und Grubach zum Etappenziel Bachrain.

Von Salzburg auf dem Salzach-Radweg nach Glasenbach und durch die Glasenbachklamm ins Klausbachtal und das Hochmoor Egelseen nach Gimpl. Durch den Waschlgraben runter Richtung Wiestalstausee. Über Wimberg, Richtung Krispl zur Halleiner Hütte und weiter über Formau zur Zillhütte (höchster Punkt 1.474 m). Runter ins Tauglbachtal und über Sommerau, hoch nach St. Koloman und Wegscheid. Über Grubach nach Bachrain.
Variante evtl. wetterabhängig: anstatt über Zillhütte von der Halleiner Hütte über über Palfenbach und Hochbrunn nach Gollegg. (insgesamt ca. 100 hm weniger aber ca. 1 km Pfad bergauf 100 hm)
