Die Etappe von Vorderriß zum Karwendelhaus startet am Gasthof in Vorderriß. Entlang des Rißbachs führt der Weg zur Oswald-Hütte. Unterhalb des Stuhlbergs zweigt der Weg in Richtung Karwendelhaus vom Rißtal ab. Von der Schwarzlackenhütte geht es durch den kleinen Ahornboden hinauf zum Karwendelhaus.
