Die Therme ist Ausgangspunkt für viele Rad- und Wanderrouten der Region und bietet sich an, nach den sportlichen Aktivitäten das vielfältige Wellnessangebot zum Loslassen zu nutzen.
Loipersdorf gilt als die Mutter aller Thermen in Österreich. Eine Erdölbohrung stieß im Sommer 1972 in 1.100 m Tiefe auf 62 °C heißes Wasser von hoher Mineralisierung, dessen potentielle Heilwirkung rasch erkannt wurde. Im Jahr 1978 wurde das Schaffelbad eröffnet, in den Jahren danach kamen immer mehr neue Bereiche dazu. Im „Thermenbad“, „Erlebnisbad“ und „Schaffelbad“ und einem Wellnesszentrum gelingt Entspannung wie von selbst. Das Thermenresort bietet seinen Gästen auf einer Gesamtfläche von 36.000 m² insgesamt 35 Becken (die gesamte Wasserfläche dieser Becken beträgt übrigens 4.000 m²).
