Take a bus to the Stubaital Valley, from there travel via gondola to the start of the hike. Pass the Maria Waldrast monastery, the highest monastery in Europe, it is worth poking your head in. Enjoy a break at the Blaser Hut for a local beer before descending steeply to the small town of Trins in the Gschnitztal Valley.

Take the bus from Innsbruck main station (line 590a or 590b in the direction of Neustift i. St.), the bus leaves every half hour from platform A. Get off at the "Mieders Serlesbahnen" stop and take the gondola up to Gasthof Koppeneck. From here the Kapellenweg leads you to the Maria Waldrast monastery from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain panorama. Hike a short distance downhill to the Ochsenalm, where you can take a break before the ascent to the Blaserhütte. The Blaserhütte is located at 2176m and offers spectacular views. Enjoy a warm soup on the windy plain.

You have two options for the descent:  Either take a direct, faster path to Trins, but it is very steep and puts a lot of strain on your knees, or hike a little more leisurely along the road down to Trins.

Keep your eyes peeled for edelweiss, as they grow in this region.

Keep an eye on the weather forecast. In the mountains, the weather can change quickly and you should avoid being in the mountains during thunderstorms.

There is no mobile phone reception between the Ochsenalm and the Blaserhütte, make sure to have a walking buddy for this section.
