Tiscali Journey to the Center of the Earth

Tiscali is among the most interesting trekking route in Sardinia and it is also a unique archaeological site.

From the ancient settlements the most important findings are expected to be artifacts such as amphorae and utensils. But the sinkhole of Tiscali also amazes in its findings.

The real discovery that this place delivered us is not the Nuragic village but the flora that has developed over the millennia by changing its genetic nature.

Downstream we take the path that leads us to the nuragic village, it allows to travel the entire circumference of the mountain. The initial climb is difficult and tiring. The dense forest occasionally gives us panoramas framed by the trees. As you go up we admire the majesty of the surrounding mountains and the Lanaittu valley in all its depth. At the top we follow the signs for the entrance to the cave. There is waiting for us the local guide who reveals the most secrets of this place forgotten for a long time.

The way back is tiring but the sun set covers the path of a warm, sweet and nostalgic light, that makes our walk easier.

A strong impact is given by the crossing of Sa Curtigia a narrow slit between two huge rocks that recall the glimpses of the American canyons. All this makes the descent less demanding.
