As there are very few trees here, the route is particularly exposed to the elements, particularly wet or windy weather can slow you down a bit.
Terrain
The terrain consists of rocky trails, grassy paths and wooden foot boards across wet ground for most of the walk. These are in place to cover larger areas of bog. The boardwalks are generally well-maintained and in good condition, but some wood may be rotten or can become slippery in wet conditions. Although these boardwalks are easy to negotiate, make sure to take extra care when walking on them.
River crossings
During the walk you will make a few river crossings, this could be stepping through (low) water or by walking over a bridge (this can be a higher bridge or low foot bridges). The bridges are generally in good condition although sometimes a little bouncy while walking on them. To be as careful as possible, stick to the following rule: There should never be more than 2 people on the bridge at the same time. This is not because the bridge is not strong enough to carry the weight, but it makes it easier to keep your balance while walking over them.
