Nice viewpoint, medieval castle ruins and the historic commandery and church in Rechberg / Rebrca.
We'll do a short hike from the historical village of Rechberg / Rebrca. From Rochus Kapelle there's a nice view across Kaernten, from the ruins of Altrechberg castle, we have no view around.
It looks there's also an option of a round tour. If you decide for it, climb to the castle ruins first, then return down to the marked path, continue as described on the summit with St. Rochus chapel, and from there continue by the road in western dirextion. It goes a bit up by the ridge, but after the next ridge bump find the road descending towards the north. In many turns it goes down the steep slope and around the Rochus hill to Rechberg / Rebrca.

A few words about Rechberg / Rebrca:
The trade route over Jezersko / Seeberg pass has been in use since prehistoric times. Coming from the south, it exits the Karawanks mountains just below Rechberg / Rebrca. Actually, in the past it went there for the last time steeply up in the village. So, people from the village were living from the trade and landlords were controlling the route from the strong castle, situated just above the village. The castle was mentioned in documents already in the 13th century. Later, the owners moved down, building a mansion just above the village. Some time it was used as a commandery, for protection of the country against Turks' raids. So, the old medieval castle was quickly deteriorating and was a ruin already in the 17th century. Worth of a visit is also the old church.

Rechberg / Rebrca
from the parking place near the church we start walking up in the SW direction, following the marks and inscriptions. After some 10 minutes, we'll probably not notice the weak trail, deterring towards the right, to the castle ruins. But let's leave that for the return and simply continue across the steep slopes. If wet, or covered with snow, the weak path will require some additional attention. On the next branching we keep right (continue ascending), then we gain the southern side rifge of our hill. A few views around open.
On the ridge, the trail turns right and does another a bit steeper ascent. Then a flat section follows and we gain a forrest road. Marks soon go right (at first following a cart road), but we can simply go on the top by the forrest road.
From the chapel of St. Rochus it's recommended to go a few more meters northwards, to the bench and a better panoramic point.
We return by the same route. Just before reaching the parking place (some 10 min before) find the weak path ascending northwards. There the slopes are least steep and in 5 min you will reach the picturesque ruins of medieval castle. The access trail on the ruins is going by the right side.
