Nagold - durch's Monbachtal

Der Start der Tour ist der Bahnhof von Bad Liebenzell, man kann aber auch an anderer Stelle Starten, wo man einen Parkplatz findet. Vom Bahnhof ein kurzes Stück entlang der L343 in die Schillerallee. Nach ca. 200m rechts einen recht steilen Weg hoch. Dieser führt uns durch den Wald zum Waldfriedhof. Diesen durchqueren bis man auf einen breiten Schotterweg nahe der L343 trifft. Nach links gehen und der Forststraße folgen bis man zu einem, wahrscheinlich, Forsthaus kommt. Hier gehen 2 Wege nach rechts, eine gut ausgebaute Forststraße (ganz rechts) und ein Weg der zu einem Pfad wird (der linke der beiden rechten Wege :-) ). Die Forststraße geht oberhalb des Monbachtales entlang und führt nicht zum Bach.

Der Pfad führt uns in das Naturschutzgebiet Monbachtal. Der Pfad folgt ca. 3 km lang dem Monbach. Dabei wird der Bach mehrmals gequert. Es hat keine Brücken. Man geht auf Steinen über den Bach. Je nach Witterung und Jahreszeit können diese Steine nass und mit Moos bewachsen sein. Man sollte daher aufpassen, sonst landet man im Bach. Am Ende des Pfades wird man wieder auf eine Forststraße geführt. Hier kann man abkürzen und läuft dann entlang der Ortschaft Monakam nach Bad Liebenzell zurück oder man folgt der Forststraße in Richtung der Weilerstraße. Am Golfplatz vorbei über die L573 auf die Weileräcker in Richtung Unterhaugstett.

Durch Unterhaugstett hindurch nach Bad Liebenzell einem Forstweg folgen. Am Ende des Forstweg gilt es einen Pfad ausfindig zu machen, der einen dann zum Kaiserstein führt. Von hier absteigen zum Kurbad von Bad Liebenzell. Der Bahnhof ist dann nur noch wenige Meter entfernt.

The start of the tour is the railway station of Bad Liebenzell, but you can also start anywhere else, where you can find a parking lot. From the station a short walk along the L343 into the Schillerallee. After about 200m turn right on a fairly steep path. This leads us through the forest to the Waldfriedhof (cemetery). Cross this until you reach a wide gravel road near the L343. Go left and follow the forest road until you come to a, probably, forester's house. Here you find 2 ways to the right, a well developed forest road (far right) and a way which becomes a path (the left of the two right ways :-)). The forest road goes along the Monbach-Valley and does not lead to the creek.

The trail takes us into the nature reserve Monbach-Valley. The trail follows the Monbach for about 3 km. The stream is crossed several times. It has no bridges. You go on stones over the water. Depending on weather and season, these stones can be wet and covered with moss. You should be careful, otherwise you land in the water. At the end of the trail you will be taken back to a forest road. Here you can abbreviate and then walk along the village Monakam to Bad Liebenzell or follow the forest road in the direction of Weilerstraße. A long the golf course over the L573 to the Weileräcker towards Unterhaugstett.

Going through Unterhaugstett then follow a forest road to Bad Liebenzell. At the end of the forest road you have to find a path, which leads you to the Kaiserstein. From here descend to the spa of Bad Liebenzell. The train station is only a few meters away.
