Start in Corvara as you walk through idyllic woodlands and the alpine meadows to Badia, before returning to Corvara
Strecke 20,1 km
Today's walk takes you on foot directly from Corvara through the idyllic woodland at the foot of the mountains to neighbouring villages, hamlets and quaint churches. A steep but short ascent outside of Corvara brings you to the Alpine meadows of Gardenacia before descending to Sponata mountain hut and lake. Continue descending to reach the village of Badia on the valley floor. Return to Corvara on gently undulating paths on the other side of the valley, enjoying views of traditional wooden chalets and church spires of the Ladin settlements you pass, as well as the mighty mountains that tower over them.
Today you may be walking past a few different areas where cows graze. Although generally very docile and used to walkers, keep your distance and never turn your back on a cow that is behaving strangely or aggressive. Be particularly vigilant around cows with calves.
Watch the short term local weather forecasts. Avoid high altitude hiking when the weather is bad. There are plenty of trails in the valleys, that allow you to reach a village quickly if bad weather sets in.
