Suffolk Walking Festival
The Suffolk Walking Festival (May - June) is one of the largest in the UK and is an annual celebration of all that Suffolk has to offer for walkers.
The picturesque countryside, made famous by the paintings of John Constable, includes two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and over 60 Nature Reserves. The largest, RSPB Minsmere, is the past home of BBC Springwatch and an ideal location for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, bird watching and photography.

About This Festival
Suffolk Walking festival celebrates Suffolk’s natural and built heritage, with guided walks in every corner of the county. From the home of horse racing in Newmarket to the home of Gainsborough in Sudbury; from historic Bury St Edmunds to the picture postcard wool towns of Lavenham and Clare; and from the wild forested expanse of The Brecks to the picturesque heritage coastline. There are circular walks for everyone, for the family, and dogs are welcome too. Varying from under a mile to over 15 miles, from one hour to consecutive days walks in urban settings and the middle of the countryside.
About The Organisers
The festival is a true partnership of the county and district councils, Suffolk’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the National Trust and RSPB, privately owned historic houses and estates, local communities and businesses, and many, many volunteers. Each walk is created by the partners and each walk leader shares their passion and enthusiasm for the place they know so well.
